Is there such a thing as Christian Literature? Or is that a fiction?

Young Christian Artists are sometimes torn by the forces of their artistic communities (which preach fidelity to the subtlety of the craft) and their religious communities (which often want the Christian message to be loud and clear). Is there an answer to this conflict?

The Activity of Being Still

One of these Christian clichés is from Psalm 46: “Be still and know that I am God.” Most of the times I’ve heard this verse from the pulpit (or the soapbox), it’s just spoken in passing and used as a self-interpreting truth. But what does it really mean to “be still” in this sense? Under what conditions should we “be still,” and under what conditions should we “be busy?”

Can you know your God?

One of the central tenets of the gospel is that you can have an intimate relationship with God, in which you know His thoughts and ways. But what about that scripture that people are always quoting to prove that God is completely and utterly unknowable? You know: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are my ways your ways"

Haiti, A Judgment or Call for Redemption?

Whenever there is any personal or large-scale disaster, God-fearers will ask whether that disaster is a judgment from God for some specific sin, a trend rooted historically in the Flood. However, Jesus makes it clear that He has a different agenda right now.

Christianity--both inclusive and exclusive

When well-meaning young people assert that the church should be more friendly, more welcoming, what exactly do they mean by that assertion? I don't know, but here are my thoughts on the subject. There are absolute lines of separation between Christians and non, but also the wide-open door of the mercy and grace and salvation manifesto of God.
